Since aluminum oxide found in certain types of sandpaper has a hardness of 9, most turners avoid any stones in the 8-10 hardness range – because they would be almost impossible to sand. Crushed stones like turquoise with a hardness between 5 and 6 make a great choice for inlays. 2. Experiment with different stones and stone colors.
Apply this mixture every time after you sand the inlay and prior to applying more CA glue. In my video “Add Crushed Stone Inlay into Your Wood Turnings” we learned about the hardness of the best stone to be used. On the mohs scale we know that minerals between 3 and 5 are best to use. Most hardwood I use are the same hardness as the minerals.
Crushed stone: If you hear the generic “crushed stone” term, it usually refers to stone that has a mixture of stone dust in it. This type of stone is best used for a base when heavy compaction is needed. As a result, it is typically used for the base of concrete and paving projects, foundations of structures, and driveway bases.

emission factors for the crushing, screening, and handling and transfer operations associated with stone crushing can be found in Section 11.19.2, "Crushed Stone Processing." In the absence of other data, the emission factors presented in Section 11.19.2 can be used to estimate emissions from corresponding sand and gravel processing sources.
A Guide to Crusher Run Gravel. Whether you want to fill a gravel driveway or create a stable base layer under asphalt, crusher run gravel is a reliable material that can extend the life and value of various projects. Crushing stone though the jaw crusher is easy work because the machine is capable of pulverizing dozens of pounds of rock per minute. The pulveriser, on the other hand, can only turn a few cupfuls of sand into dust per minute, so this will be slow work if you have a lot of material to convert.
Then use a jaw crusher to crush them. The jaw crusher uses the movement of the jaw plate to crush the large aggregate of sand and gravel into smaller particles. The raw material will be transported to the transit heap by the conveying equipment. Then use the sand making machine to turn the materials into fine plastic, sand and stone aggregate.
Pour 2 inches of sand over the base of the excavated area. Pour 1 inch of a finer grade crushed stone to fill in gaps between stones. Wet the driveway, thoroughly soaking it with a garden hose, or wait for a heavy, soaking rainfall. The water helps to move stone into air pockets and tighten the structure. Tamp the surface of the driveway.

The gravel will work into the sand, but this is not bad at all (concrete is sand, gravel and a cement, 2 out of the 3). Two factors on how long it lasts before the sand does appear on top again will depend on water content, how much gravel is laid, how thick the sand is and compaction. To start your effort, water the sand well and give it a day
